Hawaiian Adventures of Koala and Cow
Our trip to Hawaii was scary. We were packed in the bottom of a suit case. It was very bumpy as our suit case was loaded in the bottom of the airplane. We road in the cargo holds of three airplanes to get to Hawaii. It was very cold.
When we arrived in Hawaii, it was night time. We took a walk on te beach in front of the hotel. Here is a picture of the hotel. You can click on the pictures to see a bigger picture.
On Sunday, we took a city bus to Hanauma Bay, so Dad could go snorkeling. The bus dropped us off at the top of a hill overlooking the bay. Here we are at the overlook.
We took a picture of Dad too. You can see the beach and ocean down below.
While Dad was out swimming with the fish, we spent some time on the beach playing. Do you like our sand castle?
Monday was a busy day at the conference. We spent the whole day in Dad's backback getting smushed and squished. We didn't get to come out until 11:00 at night. It was dark. We got to sleep in a huge bed.
It is a nice hotel room. Here is a view of the room. It was still dark outside when the alarm woke us up Tuesday morning.
The hotel room is on the 21st floor. We have a balcony. If you go on the balcony, you can see the ocean. The moon was still up in the sky. Here we are on the railing. It was very scary.
Well, its back inside the backpack for us. I think we are going to eat one of Dad's granola bars he has in here. We spent the whole day in the backpack.
On Wednesday morning we were woken up really early and put in a small shoulder bag. It was really dark outside. Dad took us on a hiking trip to Diamond Head crater. He and a couple of friends drove there before the sun came up, so they could hike up the mountain before the conference started in the morning.
Diamond head is a old volcano crater that the army used during World War I and II for gun sighting. It is now a park with an observation platform at the top. We drove through a tunnel to get inside the crater and parked our car. Then we hiked and hiked. Near the top, we hiked through a tunnel and then up some stairs. Here are some pictures of the tunnel and the stairs.
When we got to the top, we could see the whole city down below. It was still dark, because the sun hadn't come up yet. Here we are looking down the mountain at the City of Honolulu. You can see the Moon over the ocean.
When the Sun came up, we could see a lot better. We could even see our hotel. It is the big one to the left of the pink hotel.
The conference ended Wednesday afternoon. Dad took us out shopping. We enjoyed looking in all of the windows of the fancy stores. Here we are looking at purses at the Prada store. We would much rather be carried around in one of those, but Dad wouldn't buy one.
Do you remeber that Monk show we saw before Dad left for Hawaii that had a guy painted silver that pretended to be a statue? We got to see a guy just like that while we were walking down the street.
We are going to be going to the airport to come home soon. See you tomorrow!
Bye for now,
Koala and Cow
